Breath operated (Sip/puff) switches can be very useful, and are sometimes overlooked. Many people can operate them quite quickly which works well with scanning systems. All the breath switches shown here do not need lung control - the volume of air held in the mouth is ample to operate them. Sip/puff switches are two switches in one! You can sip to operate a call system and puff to operate an additional device.
The biggest limitation with sound switches is false triggering from background noise. This is addressed to a point with the special processing in the Sound Switch Pro. For someone with no movement, it is a viable option for a call system, especially overnight.
